Biomes are biological communities adapted to particular climatic conditions. According to the latitude, terrestrial biomes can be classified in three groups:
Cold zone biomes:polar desert, tundra and taiga.
Temperate zone biomes: deciduous forest, Mediterranean forest and steppe.
Warm zone biome:desert, savannah and tropical forest.
Some natural hazards are produced by the Earth´s internal dynamics. This is the case of volcanoes and earthquakes. Students should search for information and orally present different historical or recent specially destructive earthquakes, that provoked a high impact on the local economy and population.
